What is Steiner education?

Steiner/Waldorf schools engage with contemporary insights emerging from Rudolf Steiner’s indications about the unfolding human individuality. One core insight is that the individual is a threefold being of body, soul, and spirit.

Steiner education seeks to enliven the life of feeling and thinking as well as physical, social, artistic, and spiritual capacities.

As the individual evolves, they are able to impart meaning and purpose to their lives and creatively fulfil their unique potential. For more information see the Steiner Education Australia website.

My child has additional needs, can they attend Nipakawa Steiner School?

All enrolments for Nipakawa Steiner School will be assessed on a case by case basis, taking all circumstances and needs into consideration.

We will do our best to accommodate all needs where we can properly staff and attend to them, however this may not always be possible as an emerging school. Please get in touch to discuss this further.

Will children learn a musical instrument?

Music is a fundamental part of Steiner education and singing and music is incorporated deeply into curriculum and learning from playgroup onwards.
Recorder is learnt from Year 1 and other musical instruments are encouraged as the children get older.
